Kohr Brothers operates and franchises more than 30 Kohr Bros. Frozen Custard outlets in about 10 states, a majority of which are in New Jersey. Most of its shops are in high traffic areas, such as shopping malls, airports, and sports arenas. School teacher Archie Kohr started the chain with his brothers in 1919 in order to sell more cream from the family's dairy business. The brothers began with a single ice cream shop on Coney Island's boardwalk.
