From Duncanville to Crisp, Creamery Corners to Cherry, Fruitland to Maple Park, the Illinois Department of State Police serves and protects. The Illinois State Police protects life and property, enforces criminal and motor vehicle safety laws, and responds to emergencies and disasters. The agency is organized into five divisions: Administration, Forensic Services and Identification, Information and Technology Command, Internal Investigation, and Operations. The Illinois State Police Academy operates 26-week training programs covering classroom and physical instruction. Illinois Department of State Police also works as a liaison with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces. The department was founded in 1922.
