Hunter Associates Laboratory, better known as HunterLab, makes a wide range of color measurement equipment (spectrophotometers), including handheld scanners, desktop devices, and on-line units. HunterLab's equipment is used by the US Food & Drug Administration, as well as customers in industries such as food, building material, paint & coating, paper & plastic, bio-pharma, and textiles to achieve color consistency of products. HunterLab has a presence in over 60 countries and derives more than 50% of its business outside the US. The company, which is employee owned, was founded in 1952 by Richard Hunter, a researcher who previously worked at the Henry A. Gardner Laboratory.
