Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center provides care to residents of central Florida. The not-for-profit, 160-bed medical center is the flagship facility of the Florida Hospital Heartland division of Adventist Health System. Other facilities in the Heartland system include Florida Hospital Lake Placid (a 50-bed community hospital), Florida Hospital Wauchula (25 beds), various fitness centers, medical clinics, and counseling agencies. Together the facilities provide primary and acute care, as well as specialty medical services including diagnostics, obstetrics, cardiac care, and cancer treatment. The Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center opened in 1997.
