It's the quality and volumes of its refined products that makes Western Refining a major player in the West. The independent oil refiner operates primarily in the Southwest region of the US although it does have some marketing operations on the East Coast. Western Refining's refineries (one in El Paso, one in the Four Corners region of northern New Mexico) have a crude oil refining capacity of 155,019 barrels per day. More than 90% of its refined products are made up of light transportation fuels, including diesel and gasoline. It owns a wholesale division that complements the refining operations. Western Refining also owns more than 260 convenience stores and gas stations in four Southwestern states.
