Show and tell? Showa Shell Sekiyu has plenty to talk about. Showa Shell, 35%-owned by Royal Dutch Shell, is one of Japan's leading oil refiners. The company, which was born in 1985 of a merger between Japan's Showa Oil and Royal Dutch Shell's Shell Sekiyu, imports, refines, and distributes petroleum products. The firm's three local refining affiliates, Showa Yokkaichi, Toa Oil, and Seibu Oil, have a collective refining capacity of 515,000 barrels a day. Showa Shell markets it sproducts through 5,000 gas stations; it also has solar power, electricity, city gas (liquefied petroleum gas), and property businesses. Saudi Aramco holds a 15% stake in Showa Shell.
