When nearly 10 million South Koreans say, "I'll put it on my New Shinhan Card," it's music to SHC Management's ears. Formerly named LG Card, the firm issues credit cards, provides installment financing, and offers corporate leasing services. It also provides consumer loans, offering loans tailored for students, taxpayers, newlyweds, and mobile phone users. Flagship products include the Lady Card (for women), 2030 Card (for men in their 20s and 30s), and the LG Oil Card (with mileage points and gas station discounts). Shinhan Financial acquired LG Card in 2007, combined it with Shinhan Card, and renamed it SHC Management. At more than $7 billion, the deal was one of the biggest mergers in South Korea's history.
