Former Olympic cyclist David Chauner has been promoting professional cycling in the US since the 1970s -- some 10 years before Americans starting winning the Tour de France. His company, Pro Cycling Tour (PCT), organizes and manages the Commerce Bank Triple Crown of Cycling, a 315-mile race across eastern Pennsylvania that takes place in June. The event draws world-class cyclists, live TV coverage, and spectators to Philadelphia, Reading, and the Lehigh Valley. PCT handles all aspects of cycling events, including race route permits, media, sponsors, and merchandising. The company was founded in 1982. In 2011 it was acquired by American Cycling Group, a cycling marketing and event management company.
