Mitsubishi Steel Mfg., part of the Mitsubishi keiretsu, makes special steel castings and forgings such as coil springs, hot-rolled special steel bars, magnetic materials, and vibration and shock isolators for construction machinery. Springs and processed steel products account for about one-third of sales each. Other products include shoe plates and assemblies and automotive suspension components, which it manufactures through a joint venture with Meritor Automotive.
