Whether men and women hail from Mars or Venus, Mars Super Markets pays no mind: both sexes eat! The company is a chain of about 15 grocery stores in the Baltimore area. Founded by Joseph D'Anna in 1943 and still owned and run by the D'Anna family, Mars Super Markets began in the middle of the Mars Estates military housing community. The regional supermarket chain supplies products to its store locations from its own 300,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Baltimore, offers a line of its own private label products, and sells produce and seafood from local markets.
