As Mexico's leading chicken and chicken egg producer, Industrias Bachoco doesn't care if the chicken or the egg came first. The company, founded in 1952, operates poultry production and distribution facilities primarily throughout Mexico. Bachoco breeds, processes, and markets chicken (accounting for about 90% of its 2013 sales). It also produces and distributes eggs, swine, and animal feed and offers turkey and selected value-added beef products. (It raises no turkey or cattle, it only processes them.) Altogether, it boasts more than a thousand facilities across nine production complexes (including one in the US) and 64 distribution centers. The Robinson Bours family owns a 73% interest in the company.
