Begun as a shipping and export company during the golden age of the British Empire, Inchcape spans the globe with its auto distribution, retail, and financing operations. Operating in the UK and 25 other markets in Europe, Asia, and Australasia, it offers about a dozen brands, including Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo. It has more than 125 retail franchises in the UK and provides fleet management and leasing services there. While the UK and Europe account for nearly 50% of its sales, Inchcape is expanding rapidly in high-growth emerging markets, including Africa, the Balkans, China, Poland, Russia, and South America.
