IBERDROLA RENOVABLES was the leader of wind power in Iberia and the world. The company was the renewable energy arm of Spanish utility giant IBERDROLA S.A. IBERDROLA RENOVABLES had a presence in more than 20 countries across Europe, North America, South America, and Asia. In early 2010 it had an installed generating capacity of 11,000 MW. The company's flexible arrangements with suppliers and its geographic diversification enabled it to build a total capacity (including developments in the pipeline) of more than 57,400 MW. Besides wind energy, the company invested in small hydroelectric, solar, tidal, biomass, and other green energy sources. The subsidiary was absorbed by its parent in 2011.
