Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (HHLA) is leading the pack as the Port of Hamburg's biggest container terminal operator. The company provides a variety of services and multimodal logistics solutions to the port, which is the fastest-growing major container port in northern Europe. HHLA is structured into four business segments, each run by numerous subsidiary companies and affiliates. The units include: a container terminal unit (responsible for the majority of company sales); its intermodal division; the logistics segment (consisting of eight subsidiaries in Germany and the Ukraine); and its real estate operations. HHLA has been in operation in Germany for over a century and went public in late 2007.
