Precious few companies have a name as self-explanatory as Goldcorp. One of the largest gold mining concerns in the world, the company operates the Red Lake Mine in Ontario (its largest), and it owns a 38% stake in the Alumbrera gold and copper mine in Argentina. Its Peñasquito mine in Mexico is considered a material mineral project and has silver, lead, and zinc in addition to gold. Goldcorp also operates or owns stakes in a number of other mines throughout the Americas. It produces more than 2.5 million ounces of gold annually and has more than 60 million ounces in proved and probable reserves. It also owns 1.3 billion ounces of proved and probable silver reserves and 5.4 billion pounds of copper reserves.
