DB Mobility Logistics helps carry the load for parent company Deutsche Bahn. As the freight forwarder for Germany's national rail carrier, DB Mobility Logistics also manages passenger transport and logistics operations for the company's 34 million km of track across Europe, Russia, and China. DB Mobility Logistics is organized into six business units -- DB Bahn Long Distance, DB Bahn Regional, DB Bahn Urban, DB Schenker Logistics, DB Schenker Rail, and DB Services. Deutsche Bahn hit the brakes on a partial privatization plan in October 2008, which would have made about one-fourth of the government-owned company available to the public.
