China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) specializes in channel dredging and harbor construction. The company provides services in five core areas: survey and design, marine engineering, road and bridge construction, dredging and reclamation, and port machinery manufacturing. CHEC, a division of China Communications Construction Company, owns and operates a fleet of more than 800 dredgers, floating cranes, pile drivers, barges, and other work boats. One of China's largest state-owned enterprises with foreign operations, CHEC is active in more than 20 countries. Its projects include the Gwadar Deep Water Port in Pakistan and the Penang Bridge, which will be the longest in southeast Asia.
