Established in 2001 through a share swap with China Development Industrial Bank (CDIB), CDFH provides a range of financial services with a focus on large-scale investment banking. CDIB, now a subsidiary, commands a sizeable market share in the country's venture capital business. Project finance, financial advice, securities underwriting, and real estate development also are featured on the company's menu of services. CDFH added to its holdings with its acquisition of Grand Cathay Securities, enabling it to venture into retail investment.
