Carnival is out to celebrate the best in drama. Carnival Film & Television Limited is a producer of critically acclaimed television shows, miniseries, and film, both in the UK and in the US. Its productions air on outlets such as PBS, BBC, ITV, and Channel 4. Among its television credits are Agatha Christie's Poirot, Hotel Babylon, Jeeves and Wooster, and Traffik (the miniseries upon which the feature film Traffic was based). Carnival's feature film Shadowlands (Anthony Hopkins, Debra Winger) was nominated for two Academy Awards. Carnival was founded in 1978 by Brian Eastman. NBCUniversal purchased the firm in 2008 for a price that was estimated to be as high as £30 million (about $50 million).
