Sdot Yam, Israel
#63 in FORTUNE's Fastest-Growing Companies (August 2015)
Caesarstone Sdot-Yam would like to turn the world's granite countertops into a pile of rocks. The company is a leading manufacturer of quartz countertops, a less expensive alternative to natural granite countertops. (Its products are made of 90% natural crushed quartz and 10% polymer resins to prevent scratches.) Caesarstone operates two manufacturing plants in Israel, one of which is at its kibbutz, Sdot-Yam. Its countertops and surfaces are sold in more than 40 countries under the Caesarstone brand, but Australia, Canada, Israel, and the US combined account for more than 80% of sales. Founded in 1987, Caesarstone went public in March 2012.
