The international agricultural firm manufactures and markets nitrogen- and phosphate-based fertilizers (including diammonium phosphate, or DAP); it is North America's top producer of nitrogen-based fertilizers and #2 in the world. Its ownership of fertilizer producer Terra Industries helps it keep its dominant position. CF Industries' nitrogen products include ammonia, granular urea, and UAN (urea ammonium nitrate) solutions, and its primary phosphate products are DAP and MAP (monoammonium phosphate). The company supplies approximately 20% of the nitrogen and 15% of the phosphate used by US farmers.
