Beazer Homes USA builds for the middle-class buyer who's ready to make the move into the white-picket-fence scene. Building homes with an average price of about $253,000, the company courts the entry-level, move-up, and active adult markets. Beazer Homes focuses on high-growth regions in the East, Southeast, and West; it closed on more than 5,000 homes in 2013. (For comparison's sake, it sold more than 7,500 homes in 2006.)
