A subsidiary of credit card and travel giant American Express, the company issues and services its parent company's consumer charge and revolving credit cards in the US, including the Blue, Blue Cash, Blue Sky, Gold, Platinum, and Centurion cards.  It mainly markets its cards via direct mail, the Internet, and television. The bank also offers CDs to retail and institutional customers. In addition to collecting deposits, American Express Centurion raises funds for its lending activities by selling short- and medium-term debt and securitized assets.
