Amadeus indeed rocks as one of the world's largest travel reservation and ticketing systems. More than 100,000 travel agencies and 35,000 airline sales offices use Amadeus' global distribution system (the world's largest), which books flights on about 460 airlines. It also makes reservations at some 85,000 hotel properties and about 25 car rental agencies, as well as rail, cruise, tour, and ferry operators. WAM Acquisition owns Amadeus, which is made up of airlines Air France, Iberia, and Lufthansa, equity firms Cinven and BC Partners, and Amadeus management. Amadeus IT Group is a subsidiary of Spain's Amadeus IT Holding, which went public in 2010.
