Alpha Bank Company Profile
Alpha Bank is the second-largest bank in Greece (after National Bank of Greece). It provides business and personal banking services through about 450 branches in Greece and hundreds more in Cyprus, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Ukraine, as well as in New York, London, and Jersey in the UK Channel Islands. In addition to loans, deposit accounts, and credit cards, the Alpha Bank group also offers asset management, investment banking, private banking, insurance, brokerage, leasing, and factoring. In 2011 the company rejected a takeover bid by National Bank of Greece but then agreed to merge with Eurobank. However, Alpha later shot down that merger deal.
