Overview
One of the largest managers of real estate funds in the US, Cohen & Steers administers about two dozen mutual funds, closed-end funds, and exchange-traded funds that are invested in real estate securities, global infrastructure, utilities, and large-cap value stocks. It also manages about 90 separate account portfolios for institutional investors and offers alternative investments such as hedged real estate securities portfolios. In 2009 the company sold its real estate investment banking practice, Cohen & Steers Capital Advisors (now CSCA Capital Advisors), to former managing directors of the unit. Cohen & Steers has more than $15 billion of assets under management.
