A unit of Viacom's MTV Networks, the company oversees a popular music video cable channel that reaches more than 85 million US homes. CMT airs a variety of country music programming including videos from top country artists, live concerts, reality shows (The Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search), and artist biography specials, as well as syndicated shows such as The Dukes of Hazzard. It also distributes country music content online. CMT was launched in 1983.
