CMPC Company Description
Empresas CMPC doesn't mind being "board." The company sells wood and paper products in Latin America and abroad. Through some 65 subsidiaries, CMPC produces lumber, wood chips, and pulp from timberlands in Chile and Argentina, where it owns more than a million and a half acres planted primarily with pine and eucalyptus trees. The company's subsidiaries produce consumer paper goods (including tissue), printing and writing paper, newsprint, and consumer and industrial packaging (boxes and bags). CMPC sells its timber products globally and is expanding the sale of its tissue products throughout Latin America. The family of chairman Eliodoro Matte owns about 56% of CMPC.
