Citycon Company Description
Citycon is Finnish for "shopping." The Finnish real estate company invests in retail properties, primarily in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and other major cities in Finland as well as Sweden, Estonia, and Lithuania. Citycon's properties consist of some 30 shopping centers and more than 50 supermarkets and shops. Not content to simply invest in and lease existing properties, Citycon's property development division acquires, develops, markets, and leases new retail properties. Its top tenant is Kesko (34% of rental income), a large importer and wholesaler in Scandinavia and the Baltic that also operates some 600 retail stores.
