Citizen Company Description

Timing isn't everything for Citizen Holdings, but it sure pays the bills and then some. A global leader in watchmaking (known for its public clocks in major cities worldwide), the company makes watches for pilots, divers, and sailors, plus an expanding line of Eco-Drive light-powered watches for men and women. The company, which operates the Citizen Watch unit among others, also makes clocks and jewelry. Much of Citizen's revenue, however, is generated from sales of information and industrial machinery, such as notebook PCs, light-emitting diodes, PC cards, printers, quartz oscillators, and blood pressure monitors. Citizen moved to a holding company structure in April 2007 and acquired rival Bulova in 2008.
