Overview

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. (CGMI) is the brokerage and securities arm of banking behemoth Citigroup. The company provides investment banking services to corporate, institutional, government, and retail clients. As a broker-dealer, CGMI offers clients access to the global markets in more than 100 countries. Services include underwriting, structuring, sales and trading across such asset classes as equities, corporate, government and agency bonds, and mortgage-backed securities. Through Citi Futures, it offers execution and clearing services. As part of a restructuring by Citigroup, its global markets operations were split from Citigroup's consumer finance business in 2009.
