Overview
CITIC Pacific is a chip off the old Communist bloc. The group has investments in steel, real estate, energy, aviation, and communications. With stakes steel plants with an annual capacity of more than 7 million tons, CITIC Pacific is China's largest producer of specialty steel (heat-resistant, anti-corrosion, and other enhanced steel). CITIC also owns stakes in facilities that produce raw materials needed in steel production, including iron ore mines and coking coal plants. Property developments include office and residential towers, and the group owns several land banks in and around Shangahi. The state-owned CITIC Group owns more than half of CITIC Pacific.
