Overview
Chupa Chups (pronounced "choopa choops") might be hard to say, but its products just roll off the tongue. A Spanish confectioner, the company makes some four billion lollipops a year and it offers more than 100 different flavors. The company produces Smint Xylicare "dental" candy, which it claims protects teeth from cavities, as well as Cremosa sugar-free strawberry and cream-flavored lollipops. It also licenses the Chupa Chups brand to makers of clothing, footwear, and personal care products. Founded in 1958 by Enric Bernat, Chupa Chups was owned and run by the Bernat family until 2006, when it was sold to leading Italian confectioner Perfetti Van Melle.
