Chunghwa Picture Tubes Company Description
Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) makes optoelectronic display components used in TFT-LCD (thin-film transistor liquid-crystal display), projection, PDP (plasma display panel), and CRT (cathode ray tube) applications. The company, which was established in 1971, also makes color picture tubes and electron guns. CPT has acquired an equity stake of about one-third ownership in Chinese television set maker Xiamen Overseas Chinese Electronics (Xoceco), raising its presence in China's TV market. The two companies plan to build an LCD module plant in Xiamen, China.
