China International Marine Containers Company Description

Business is always tanking for China International Marine Containers (CIMC). The company is the world's largest tank container manufacturer and also makes trailers and other road transport equipment and airport ground-handling equipment for global shipping and leasing companies. The shipping container manufacturer also produces dry van, reefer (refrigerated containers), and various special containers at more than 20 plants throughout China. Its airport equipment includes passenger-boarding bridges and air cargo and logistics management systems. China Merchants Holdings and East Asiatic formed CIMC as a joint venture in 1980. COSCO became a partner in 1987. CIMC acquired Dutch rival Burg Industries in 2006.
