China Construction Bank Company Description
The bank that helped build China one five-year plan at a time now wants to foster market-oriented enterprises. China Construction Bank (CCB) has historically concentrated on medium- and long-term loans to large domestic corporations but is expanding its lending services to small and midsized businesses, foreign multinationals, and consumers. The bank operates some 14,000 domestic branches, which offer standard deposit products, credit cards, and auto loans; it was the first Chinese lender to offer personal housing loans in the 1980s. CCB also provides asset management and investment banking services. The once wholly state-owned bank listed its shares for the first time in 2005.
