Overview

Chesapeake Utilities gasses up the Chesapeake Bay, and then some. The company, through its subsidiaries, serves about 34,100 retail propane customers in Delaware, Florida, Maryland, and Virginia. Another subsidiary, Xeron, sells propane at wholesale to distributors, industrial users, and resellers throughout the US. Chesapeake's three natural gas distribution divisions serve 62,900 customers. Chesapeake's interstate pipeline company, Eastern Shore Natural Gas, transmits gas to its parent and other utilities. Through BravePoint, the company also offers data services, consulting, and software development. Other operations include real estate investment.
