The 875-bed teaching and research hospital is located right where Los Angeles meets Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, and it has tended to the medical needs of a number of celebrities since its inception in 1902. However, the center is also a major teaching hospital for UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine and is engaged in some 600 research programs, in areas such as cancer, neuroscience, and genetics.
