Carolina Panthers Company Description

This team is prowling for a football championship. The Carolina Panthers professional football team joined the National Football League as an expansion franchise in 1993 (along with the Jacksonville Jaguars) and reached the NFC Championship game just three years later. (The Panthers lost to the Green Bay Packers.) The team finally reached the Super Bowl at the end of the 2004 season, but lost to the New England Patriots. A group led by Jerry Richardson, a former wide receiver for the Baltimore Colts (now the Indianapolis Colts), paid the league $140 million to start the franchise.
