Caremark Pharmacy Services (formerly Caremark Rx) cares about keeping medicine affordable. The prescription benefits management division of CVS Caremark (formerly CVS), Caremark Pharmacy Services designs and administers the drug coverage programs of thousands of corporate, managed care, government, and union health plans. It operates a national network of some 60,000 retail pharmacies and mail-order offices through which health plan members buy drugs, often at discounts that Caremark negotiates with their makers. The division was formed in 2007 when CVS acquired Caremark, merging Caremark's pharmacy services businesses with those of CVS subsidiary PharmaCare.
