California State Legislature Company Description
The California State Legislature helps make laws for the Golden State. The legislature, which consists of the State Assembly, the State Senate, and other departments, proposes some 6,000 bills each session. About 80 elected members make up the California State Assembly; the California State Senate is made up of 40 members. Formed in 1913, the Legislative Counsel offers legal counsel through more than 80 attorneys to the legislature and its members. The California Research Bureau, part of the state library, provides research services to the California State Legislature.
