C.H. Robinson Worldwide (CHRW) keeps merchandise moving. A third-party logistics (3PL) provider, the company arranges freight transportation using trucks, trains, ships, and airplanes belonging to other companies. It contracts with some 49,000 carriers. CHRW handles about 9 million shipments per year for its 36,000-plus customers that include companies in the food and beverage, manufacturing, and retail industries. Besides transportation, the company also offers logistics for supply chain management services through some 230 offices. In addition, CHRW buys, sells, and transports fresh produce throughout the US, and its T-Chek unit provides fuel purchasing management services for motor carriers.
