Bush Industries Company Description
Bush Industries is jockeying for a permanent seat in the ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture industry. A leading maker of RTA furniture for homes and offices through its Bush Furniture North America and Europe divisions, Bush's products are sold worldwide through about 10,000 retail outlets, including furniture and department stores, electronics and office product retailers, and mass merchandisers. It boasts three units: Bush Business Furniture, Bush Furniture, and Röhr. Bush filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2004. Its reorganization, which resulted in the firm being taken private later that year, spurred the ousting of the Bush family (former chairman and CEO Paul Bush and sons Douglas and Gregory).
