BUPA Company Description
BUPA (British United Provident Association) is the UK's leading private medical insurer, providing health care coverage and life insurance for more than 4 million people in the UK, and several million more through its international operations, which include Spanish health care organization Sanitas. In the UK, BUPA runs health screening centers and more than 300 retirement and nursing homes. It is also in the child care market, operating nearly four dozen Teddies Nurseries child care centers across the UK. In 2007 the company sold its hospital network to private equity firm Cinven and its worksite child care business (separate from Teddies Nurseries) to UK nursery operator Family Care Company.
