Operating largely in the chilly Baltic region, Britannia Bulk Holdings transports dry bulk commodities, including coal, fertilizers, grains, and iron ore. The company owns more than 20 vessels, including more than a dozen dry bulk carriers as well as tugs and barges, with an overall capacity of about 1.1 million deadweight tons (DWT); in addition, it charters-in about 45 vessels, which have an overall capacity of about 2.2 million DWT. Many of the company's vessels are ice-class vessels, constructed and certified for transportation in icy conditions, which often prevail in the Baltic Sea. Britannia Bulk went public in June 2008.
