Bongaigaon Refinery Company Description

Bongaigaon Refinery & Petrochemicals, one of India's top 10 refinery companies, serves the eastern state of Assam. In addition to its core crude processing refinery, the company has petrochemicals and polyester staple fiber (PSF) plants. Bongaigaon Refinery & Petrochemicals is a subsidiary of oil giant Indian Oil Corporation, which owns 75% of the regional oil refiner's stock. The refining company was incorporated in 1974 as a central government company and became a subsidiary of Indian Oil in 2001. It is the first local refinery in India that has been integrated with a petrochemical complex in the same location. Its crude distillation unit has the capacity to process 2.5 million tons of crude per year.
