Birdstep Technology Company Description
How do you say "small footprint" in Norwegian? Apparently, it's Birdstep Technology. The company develops database software for storing large quantities of data in very small spaces on PDAs and other handheld devices. The company also offers wireless software that allows users to maintain a network connection while moving among physical locations. Its customers include 3Com, PCTel, Telenor, and Connect One. To strengthen its sales and distribution activities, Birdstep acquired Swedish wireless connectivity software developer Alice Systems in 2004. It also combined its IP Zone business with Aptilo Networks to form a wireless LAN (WLAN) software company. Birdstep was founded in 1996.
