BGL Investment Partners Company Description

BGL Investment Partners has a big thirst for entrepreneurial companies to support. Banque Générale du Luxembourg (now known as Fortis Banque Luxembourg) set up the firm in 2000 when it spun off its institutional investment business as a separate entity. (The "BGL" in the firm's name comes from the bank's former initials.) Now BGL Investment Partners (sometimes also known as BIP) invests in entrepreneurial companies in and around Luxembourg; it also provides ongoing guidance for companies in its portfolio. Fortis Banque Luxembourg owns about 40% of BGL Investment Partners.
