Bergesen Company Description
Bergesen Worldwide Gas (BW Gas) is a leading marine transporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The company's fleet of about 70 vessels includes mostly LNG carriers, along with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vessels. Formerly named Bergesen d.y. ASA, the company has been restructured and has sold its offshore businesses to holding company Bergesen Worldwide Ltd. It has also sold its tanker vessels and transferred its dry bulk business to other Bergesen Worldwide group companies. Hong Kong-based World-Wide Shipping Group bought Bergesen in 2003. Bergesen Worldwide Gas was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 2005.
