Belgacom Company Description
Belgacom doesn't waffle when it comes to providing telecommunication services. The company offers traditional fixed-line and mobile phone services, as well as Internet access, in Belgium. Belgacom also owns Belgacom Mobile, which operates as Proximus, a provider of wireless telecom services to more than 4 million subscribers; it also offers a range of corporate data services. The company was once state-owned; the Belgian government now holds 50% plus one share of Belgacom. A telecom consortium made up of AT&T, SingTel, TDC, and three Belgian finance groups sold its 49% stake in Belgacom in 2004.
